Brave Enough to Ask for Help

by | Sep 1, 2021

Dear Friends,

I was recently introduced to an entertaining little book, The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse, written by Charlie Mackesy.

Charlie grew up and lives in London and works as a writer and illustrator for Oxford University Press. He is a former atheist who “sees his work as a way to introduce God to the people he loves.”

“What is the bravest thing you have ever said?” asked the boy to the horse. “Help,” said the horse. “Asking for help isn’t giving up,” said the horse.

American author Karle Wilson Baker (1878-1960) wrote, “Courage is faith that has said its prayers.”

“Help”… it’s a simple courageous prayer that God has promised to hear and to act on.

The Lord will be gracious if you ask for help. He will be faithful to respond to the sound of your cries.” Isaiah 30:19

Enjoy this day where courage and help meet.
