God’s Workmanship

Dear Friends,

She was a singer like no other; he a soldier like no other.

She, the daughter of a preacher man; he, the son of a Navy Admiral.

She hemmed in by poverty; he, captured as a prisoner of war.

She, earned the title, “Queen of Soul”; he, dubbed the “Conscience of the Senate.”

Aretha Franklin and John McCain. Each on a mission. Each leaving an effectual legacy. Each a “piece of work” that has made a difference for all of us… who, like us, are:

God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10

Enjoy this Labor Day and the reality that you are God’s workmanship… whether singing, soldiering, picnicking, or just grateful for the work God has for you to do.

Grateful for each of you.
