Dear Friends,
Concerts sprang up wherever Covid 19 was doing its worst and wherever the resulting isolation needed a cure. Global concerts sang and played in Barcelona, Paris, Rome, Lebanon, Germany, Iraq, United States, Rio de Janeiro and hundreds of unknown hamlets and villages. Music and singing found a home on rooftops, malls, sidewalks, balconies and terraces.
No matter the genre… classical, pop, jazz, oldies, rock. It made no difference. It was music that connected and expressed a way through our isolation.
No matter the artists… both the celebrated and the unknowns doing their part. From her balcony, German artist Tirzah Haase, led the street crowd in the singing of Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy”, the official anthem of the European Union. The song includes the line “melt the clouds of sin and sadness, drive the dark of doubt away, Giver of immortal gladness, fill us with the light of day.”
Our hearts were created for “immortal gladness.” One way that happens is by our Creator God singing over you and me each day and welcoming in the “Light of day”… regardless our station or situation, particularly when we are needing a way through.
“The Lord our God takes great delight in you; He rejoices over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17
Take heart in the “Light of Day” concert being sung over you each day.
