Dear Friends,
Bangkok, Thailand is where our ‘kids’ live. It’s a mega city of 10 million people. To visitors it’s an unfamiliar culture, unfamiliar language, unfamiliar currency, unfamiliar traffic patterns, unfamiliar signage… unfamiliar territory everywhere. Sukhumvit is a main boulevard that runs near our grandkid’s home.
“Grandy, if you get lost or turned around, just tell the driver to take you to Sukhumvit 71. From there you’ll know how to get home.”
Straight forward and easy to understand directions from a 14-year-old grandson.
The New Year 2023 will include moments that are planned and familiar… AND moments when you and I will feel “lost or turned around” and we’ll be in unfamiliar territory.
Here are some straight forward directions for getting us to a place where “you’ll know how to get home” from the One who is the Way:
“Whether you turn right or left, your ear will hear my voice, ‘this is the way, walk in it.’” Isaiah 30:21
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with my hand upon you.” Psalm 32:8
“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for I, the Lord your God, will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
